The science study was done by a Dr. Shettles (hence the Shettles Method). If you have an inherited disorder or really, really, want one specific gender, consider IUI. There is a method called microsorting that greatly increases your chances of having a girl (the rate is in the 90s) and does increase your chances of having a boy, but not as greatly. Not sure how true they are but I did have sex on the day I was ovulating and am the proud mother of a 2 yr old boy. But for fun: Boys are conceived in the summer, girls in the winter (something to due with warmer sperm makes boys) If a man wears socks during sex, you'll make a boy (I love this one, its hilarious!!!) If the husband initiates sex, it will conceive a boy. If the wife initiates, a girl is conceived. If the woman orgasms, it means a girl (I can guarantee this ones wrong - I orgasm easily and have 3 sons lol) I read so many online, some are hilarious!!! They never work! But for fun:
