Vinegar douche for conceiving a girl?

Has anyone heard of using a vinegar douche before sex to increase the chances of conceiving a girl? I’ve read that it immobalizes the male sperm making it much more favorable for the female sperm to reach the egg, especially if you do it 2-4 days before ovulation. I’ve also read though that it can be dangerous to make one and use it because it can cause infection. I saw someone post that you can buy premade vinegar and water douches from Walgreens, CVS Pharmacy or any other drug store and the follow FDA guide lines so they are very safe to use. Does anyone know if this actually works or has anyone tried it themselves?

my wife did that when concieving our child and now he is known as the vinegar villian and starts crime around the city. he stinks places up with his terrible smell but is a hit at the boardwalk. he can sense what is in peoples wallets by running around them 5 times and then blowing into there ear. unless you want to mutate the genes of your child and cause them to turn into something similar to my child, then dont.

    Hunny, no this doesn’t work

Vinegar changes the PH levels in your body. If you are trying to conceive, I would deduce this would be a bad practice to engage in.

You are never supposed to douche, just ask your doctor. It kills the natural flora and creates an imbalance. With that being said, vinegar will kill ALL sperm, not just male sperm.

girl, youre not supposed to douche during pregnacy. youll hurt the fetus. Youll even drown youre baby. So , youde better think again.

This is the most absurd thing I have ever heard just like all the other bogus old wives tales. Do you honestly think that chromosones in your DNA that are passed to your baby come down to Spring Fresh or Summers Eve??? Come on now.

that sounds stupid……. ur not really supposed to douche at all it causes infectons not just the ones u make ne ways it kills ur good bacteria.

Please dont try that. You could really harm yourself and make so that you wont ever get pregnant. You could just take birth control for 2 or 3 months and then stop taking them for a month. You will definantly get pregnant>>>>

i’ve read all that has to do with trying for a certain gender just curious. I really really really want a healthy baby so it does not matter if we get another boy or a little girl.
trying for a certain gender can be difficult to even get pregnant at all!! SOOO just try for a healthy baby. Douching is NOT a good idea, it can welcome infection and then you’ll have a hard time getting pregnant. Even if you did it’s still 50/50 and I believe an acidic douche may kill ALL the sperm. http://www.ingender.com has surveys and all that done by people who have tried to get a desired sex baby and if you study them you’ll see that there is no guarantee..always 50/50 have your heart set on a healthy baby like i said!

Theoretically changing the PH of the vagina can favour one sort of sperm or another. The vagina is a harsh enviroment, and X sperm are supposed to be more hardy than Y sperm. That being said, the change is by a minute percent and is about as effective as say, forgoing an orgasm for the female (orgasms increase the chance of concieving a male, because they neutralize the PH too) and it’s not healthy to stick random things into your vagina because the acid enviroment also kills things that shouldn’t grow there.

Vinegar douches are actually sold as they’re a primative cure for yeast infections as they increase the PH and kill the yeast beasties, but they can also make things worse, and that’s the sort of infection they warn you against.

Many health care professionals state that douching is dangerous, as it interferes with both the vagina’s normal self-cleaning and with the natural bacterial culture of the vagina, and it might spread or introduce infections. it can lead to irritation, bacterial vaginosis, and pelvic inflammatory disease. studies have also showed that women who douched regularly and later became pregnant had higher rates of ectopic pregnancy, infections, and low birth weight infants than women who only douched occasionally or who never douched at all. They also say that if you dough after intercourse in can reduce the chance of pregnancy by 15-25%.
With all that, i wouldnt touch the stuff. I have not read anywhere that is helps you conceive a girl more so than a boy.

  13. bclcordero says:

douching is never safe to do,… and can make it harder for you to even conceive, let alone get a girl,… your body is made to make babies, and changing your inner chemistry will mess everything up.

  14. lizgas says:

doing that kind of stuff can lead to a uti. i dont think you should do it.

There is a great web site called in-gender, check the various posts regarding concieving a girl. There are actual studies about ph balances and male or female conceptions, also information on timing, etc… and lots of surveys about what women did and what they concieved. You can safely try to sway the odds! Lots of luck to you!

  16. Renee says:

Don’t listen to all that nonsense. People actually do use vinegar or lime juice to sway for a girl and from what other moms have said can improve the odds. Frequent douching is not recommended as it can upset the bacterial balance and cause infections and is not neccessary as the vagina is self cleaning. As a mom of 3 boys ttc a girl i understand where u r coming from on this! Try the girl diet (involves adding and elimenating certain foods and supplements to make the body more hospitable for one gender or another. Good Luck and Prayers that you get your pink bundle!
