What are the 'tricks' in conceiving a boy and/or a girl?

I know there are things people say to do and not to do to have a boy or a girl, I just can’t remember.

Like, my mom said ‘girl’ eggs can’t really live in acidic places, so if you want to have a boy, eat acidic things (fruit and such), and if you want to have a girl, don’t eat that stuff.
:) Thanks!

You can "hope" and you can "pray" for the gender child you want…

But the "tricks" you should most focus on, are those that produce a healthy baby, regardless of gender.

ok im sorry but you cant trick into having a boy or girl……

the example you provided will not work, nothing that you eat will change what sex the baby will be. I truly don’t believe there is anything you can do to guarantee a certain sex.

Boy sperm swim faster and die sooner, where girls r slower and live longer.. If you want a girl have sex 2-3 day before you ovulate so once you egg is ready the boy sperm will have already been there and died off, where as the girl sperm is just getting there or hanging around waiting… To have a boy have sex the day of ovulation or the day after to insure they get there first…..

I don’t think that’s true….I think you can increase/decrease the chance of having a boy/girl by the timing of the female’s ovulation….I forget which is which, like there’s a certain time…google it.

It is said that acidic environments inside the body can favour female sperm and alkaline ones favour male sperm but the truth in this is not 100% confirmed. I would say not to try vaginal douching, whereby the female tries to ‘alter’ the acidity of her vagina by basting it with acidic/alkaline mixture. This has been known to unbalance the delicate area and isn’t said to be totally healthy or safe. Let nature take its course :] It’s much more fun that way!

Remember that the sex of baby is set at the moment the sperm meets the egg. It’s all down to him, really! There are plenty of old wives tales about…"eat chocolate and all things sweet for a little girl and plenty of meat and greens for a boy" etc etc – the truth of it can’t really be assured but I guess there’s no harm in trying for fun :] Good luck!

well i think there are things you can maybe try, but its not like scientifically proven to work every time. they say that if you have sex a few days before or a few days after you ovulate it will be a girl becuase the female sperm live faster, so by the time you ovulate the male sperm dies.
they say if you get pregnant the day you ovulate you have a boy becuase the male sperm are faster and will make it to the egg before the female. but like i said, the female lives longer. i think its easier to concieve a girl…but im not sure
really its a 50/50 chance, whatever is meant to be will

im a mommy of a 2 year old little girl and im 20 weeks with a BOY!!! guess i got lucky

    BABY DUST TO YOU!!!

Look up the Chinese Conception Chart/Chinese Birth Chart

It is 85% accurate when trying to conceive a certain gender.

You look at your age of when you want to conceive, than it shows you what gender you will conceive each month of that year. (Example: I was 18 when I conceived, and I conceived in April. The chart for 18 years old in the month of April said I would have a boy…guess what? I had a boy!)

I found this through my birth class instructor, who said it worked for 3 out of her 4 children

All those ‘tricks’ people talk about, are really just old wives tales.

You have a 50/50 chance of having either or, and although some people say "i did this to have a girl and i had one’ etc, it’s really out of your hands, because it’s more dependent on the sperm, and if the X or Y chromosome is more dominant.

The only ‘tale’ that seems to have a little bit of merit is the temperature of the males genitals – - some medical researchers say that if a mans genitals are typically ‘warm’ – the chances for a boy are greater, versus a man whose genitals are typically cooler.

Otherwise, sorry to be the bearer of bad news :-( .

    Google the "Shettles Method"

It can increase your chances from 50/50 to 60/40, or so Dr. Shettles claims.

    Good luck!

Google the Shettles method and you can also get his book, "how to choose the sex of your baby". From all the research I have done nothing is guaranteed but this should help "tip the scales" if done properly. I will be trying for a girl soon, just to see if it works since I will be happy with either. Basically after tracking my temps on fertilityfriend.com it will tell me about when I ovulate, to have a girl you need to time it 3-4 days prior to when you think you will ovulate. There is also a calculator on babymed.com

    Good luck :)

when i got pregnant with my son it was on or VERY close to ovulation…

with our daughter…we had sex and two days after i ovulated…

(i was using an ovulation test so i know this for certain)

i had read that male sperm do tend to swim faster but don’t live as long…and female sperm may not swim as fast…but given a chance for the male sperm to die off they have a better shot.

if you want to try for a boy use an ovulation kit and go for it the day you see you are ovulating…and if you want to try for a girl… you may want to test for a month to see when you ovulate and then the next month have sex about two days before ovulation.

you may not get the gender results you hoped for but non-the-less you will be blessed!

    good luck!

it all depends on ur husband but what u can do is that before conceiving also, dont skip breakfast. if u do so then there are chances that u get a girl child.

    I have heard —-
Girl eggs take longer (due to all the info that they carry) to get to the fallopian tubes, so if you want a girl- have sex exactly on the day of ovulation.
If you want a boy_ they move faster have sex a few days before ovulation.
I read this somewhere. I don’t remember where. But it makes sense. Good luck

  15. mixedgodess19 says:

the baby sex is already determined when you conceive it just takes time to find out the sex
